The syllabus of JEE Main entrance exam is very good enough for all engineering entrance exams. Hence start your engineering entrance exam preparation according to the JEE Main syllabus or syllabus of concerned College entrance exam. IHM is part of the government body while IIHM is a private institution.Generally, there are not much difference as it all depends on you and the efforts that you would be willing to put into your education and learning. IIHM being a private institution will get you more coverage.
If you have a low budget then go for IHM. Placements are good in both are good in both the colleges.
