The University of Iowa has 11 residence halls  which provide on-campus accommodation to students. Admission at NIT Silchar for BTech course is done through JEE Main. Students need to fulfil the eligibility criteria of the respective entrance exam in order to get admission. Students seeking admission to PhD must have completed their masters' degree with at least 60% aggregate (For General category candidates). In addition to this, they are required to go through an entranc exam and interview round conducted at the institute level for final admission.
