What is your education qualification? Different institutes have different requirement for minimum qualification. Also, check FTII's website for guidelines for international students.
Alternatively, if you want to learn Direction from Mumbai - the heart of Indian Film Industry then you can opt for Digital Academy - The Film School. They have an excellent placement cell and they get renowned Film Personalities for Guest Lectures. It is quite popular amongst International Students, as well.

It would largely depend on the kind of resources you have as the education abroad would require a good amount of liquid money. However, if you plan to get into company's like Boston, Accenture etc. you may very well plan to get into IIMs in India or other good B-Schools with in India itself like MDI, S.P.Jain etc. However, in case you plan for studying abroad which would again be a good option; you can consider top Universities in US such as Stanford, Harvard, MIT etc.
