Hi dear
In order to pursue MS in US, you need to take GRE and TOEFL:
TOEFL is the exam which need to be taken by all the international students whose first or native language is not English.
TOEFL has 4 section namely:
*Reading
*Writing
*Speaking
*Listening
TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) is of 120 marks, and all the good universities requires 80-90 plus score.
GRE,is a test which need to take by all the student who wish to pursue MS course in US.
It is of 1600 marks, and all the good universities requires 1200-1400 plus score.

Doesn't matter if you have missed on CAT there are several others like XAT, MAT, MAH CET and other CET Entrances which you can appear for and get into one of the good B-Schools like XLRI, IILM, Symbiosis etc.

Its totally depend on the university in which you are studying so you have to check your course structure to know about either its mandatory or not. i will suggest you to join industrial training either its in your course or not as it will give you exposure provides practical knowledge of field and help to establish contact in the industry those will help you in future.
