You have to take SAT exam for pursuing engineering abroad. The financial aid is offered only on the basis of your SAT score. So you'll have to work very hard on that. Also, top ranked institutes do not easily offer scholarship so you might have to take education loan. However, medium ranked colleges may offer good scholarship.
Now to decide whether to go abroad or not, first think about where you want to settle. Of settling abroad is your aim than go for education abroad. If you plan to come back to India, then there is no use of wasting money and taking huge loans to go abroad. Target top Indian schools in that case.

Dear Rinni,
There is no difference between these two degree courses BE and B-Tech. Both are engineering degrees and their scope and value are the same. One may earn in 'Lakhs' per month by the age of 40 or above. The return on investment is meagre, initially. You slowly create a patient base and then make a fortune. Some people even start with 10-20k per month during initial period. This does not even cover your debt liabilities initially. The gestation perioed is long to achive a break-even, i.e. making profit equal to the money invested to set up the clinic.
