Most of the institutes do not offer pure specialisation in Genetic engineering at the under graduate level. It is generally offered as a subsidiary i.e. along with other subjects like microbiology, biochemistry etc in universities like Osmania University, Kakatiya University. Specialisation in genetic engineering is generally offered at the post-graduate level. Some of the institutes offering the same include IIT Delhi and Kharagpur, JNU, BITS Pilani. B.Sc in Genetics is offered by Institute of Genetic Engineering in Kolkata. There is no entrance exam as admission is based on 12th marks.

A cruise ship is a passenger ship that is used for vacation or “pleasure” voyages. The college has hostels for both boys and girls which accommodates 170 boys and 140 girls. Each room is shared by three students.
The central library has an overwhelming collection of 69,000 volumes of books apart from journals and periodicals. In addition to the main library each department has separate library consisting of volumes of books of particular discipline of study. The entire library is digitalized and is operated by SOUL software. The central library is linked to each department so that the students can access books from any of the terminals inside the college. It has special software for facilitating reading for the visually challenged students.
