The eligibility for joining merchant navy is completing class 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Other requirements are:
1. Applicants must be unmarried Indian citizens (male or female).
2. Normal vision is required, but glasses up to plus or minus 2.5 may be allowed.
3. Admission is done through an entrance and screening test.
4. After clearing the test, there is an interview and a medical test.
5. You are also required to complete a ship-training course prior to the employment.
