Dear Mrinal, The major difference between both these fields is that IT deals with the application of computing technology to real-life processes, while, Computer Science deals with the Science that facilitates these applications. On the other hand, IT is just the selection of the proper software or hardware for the task. Both the branches have a very good scope in India as well as abroad. I have many friends who have done B.Tech in CSE & IT at LPU. I highly recommend LPU for these branches. There are some points I would like to share about why CSE/IT is good for LPU. Good Placement: LPU has a good placement record for CSE students. Every year more than 500+ companies including national and multinational companies visit LPU for placement. A few of them are Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, etc. In which they are placed. The maximum package availed for CSE is 42 lacs. Per annum by Microsoft. Scholarships: LPU provides scholarships to bright students every year worth crore rupees to all the students based on their academics, extracurricular activities, and other factors. Faculty: All faculty members are well qualified from IITs, NITs, Iims, and top-ranked universities all over the world. Tie-ups: B.Tech in CSE/IT has tie-ups with industries which helps students to explore themselves more in their field.
