MEO Class 1 (Marine Engineering Officer Class 1) is a certification issued by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India, to individuals who have completed a specialised marine engineering programme and have passed the necessary examinations. While MEO Class 1 certification is equivalent to a postgraduate degree, it is not equivalent to a graduation degree. Therefore, a candidate with MEO Class 1 certification may not be eligible to apply for an MBA programme in a university as most universities require a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification for admission to an MBA programme. However, some universities may have their own specific eligibility criteria and may accept candidates with MEO Class 1 certification for admission to an MBA programme. Therefore, it is recommended that candidates check the eligibility criteria of the universities they are interested in applying to and contact the admissions office for more information on eligibility requirements.
