For direct admission to the B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering course at NIT Agartala, the eligibility criteria are:- Candidates should have a minimum of 65% marks or CPI/CGPA of 6.5 at a scale of 10 for General/ OBC category candidates and 60% marks or CPI/CGPA of 6.0 at a scale of 10 for SC/ST candidates in BE/B.Tech.- The candidates must have a valid GATE score for admission under centralized counseling.- For direct admission, candidates can apply under the sponsored category if they are employed in any Govt., Semi Govt., and Undertaking, etc., and have completed at least two years of continuous service.- The admission is based on the performance in the oral/written examination conducted by the Academic Departments.- Preference will be given to GATE qualified candidates.

Candidates who have passed Diploma in Information Technology/Computer Engineering/Computer Science and Allied Branches are eligible for direct admission to the Second Year of the B.Sc. (I.T.) degree course. However, the Diploma should be recognised by the Board of Technical Education or any other recognised Government Body with a minimum of 45% aggregate for open category candidates and 40% aggregate for reserved category candidates.

The eligibility criteria to seek direct admission for the B.Tech. in Biotechnology (Artificial Intelligence) course at Karunya University is:Passed 10+2 examination with Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Technology / Biology / Informatics Practices / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subject / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship (any of the three) with a minimum marks in the above subjects taken together as per AICTE norms.Alternatively, passed minimum 3 years Diploma Examination with a minimum marks as per AICTE norms, subject to vacancies in the First year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

The eligibility criteria to seek direct admission for the B.Sc. in Information Technology course at Nirmala Memorial Foundation Degree College of Commerce and Science is that the candidate should have passed Secondary Education or its equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects and should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate (40% marks in aggregate in case of Reserved category).
