BSc Computer Science graduates have basic understanding of Computer Science fundamentals and applications. MCA Program is generally a three year (six semesters) course. The program has a right mix of Core and Application subjects with more emphasis on computer application. If you do MCA after BSc some of the syllabus of MCA will be repeat for you. MSc CS Program are generally two year and it gives emphasis on theory and systems in Computer Science. If you want to make career in core CS, you are advised to do MSc CS. If you want to have career in computer application opt for MCA. Job opportunities are higher in the field of Computer Applications. With Make in India push lot of new product companies are being launched which will generate opportunities of pure CS postgraduates. Vellore Institute of Technology has maintained an excellent placement record by providing its students with ample opportunities to blossom their career goals. The university has been ranked at the 28th, 55th, and 15th positions by the NIRF under the Overall, Management, and Engineering categories respectively. The placement season for the 2022 batch started on July 15. The institutes, 81 students from all four campuses of VIT Vellore, Chennai, Amarvati and Bhopal received the pay packages of above INR 25 LPA in its initial phase of placement season and the highest CTC stood at INR 75 LPA. The PG internship placements at VIT started in March 2021, which is going on simultaneously and has seen participation of 118 companies which have already selected 912 students from the 2022 graduation batch.
