One year Masters from UK is accepted all over the world, except in India, that too only AICTE is not approving one year Masters to teach in India. If you are going to come back to India and teach in any university it is not accepted. Otherwise for jobs and for all purpose it is accepted. Even IPS and IAS officers after 5 years of experience before posted as Collectors or Asst. Commissioner of Police, they are sent to UK to do their MBA and come. Normally, when someone doing Masters in UK will never come back to India and teach. If someone is really interested in teaching, they can do Ph.D and teach. All countries accept this Masters in

Well for M.Sc Degree at IIT Bombay, you need to give IIT JAM exam. I have given GATE exam (not JAM) for M.Tech, but my guess is that the admission procedure would be similar. Get a rank within top 150, after which are shortlisted for screening test+interview (sometimes only interview). Only after clearing those interview you are admitted. For an IITian the GATE/JAM exam is exempted but you need to clear a minimum GPA limit for this. And yes, maths is compulsory.

How do you calculate the backlogs? You may have 6 papers but how many times you attempted. If you have more than 6 times, you need not try for Canada. If you have only 6, then you can try in Canada. Few colleges may accept you, but no university will offer you admission. You can try other countries like New Zealand and UK.
