7 band is a good score. What is your individual score, you should have taken minimum 6 in all the four components. You are late for September intake. Now, if you apply you can get admission for January intake. There are some colleges opening in October, on which you apply and try.

The Material Science programme at CEG is more test-oriented than research or employment oriented. The tests are monotonous. Every year, they repeat the same pattern of questions. If you bootlick the professors, you can get really good marks. There was this thermodynamics sir who didn't even teach at all. The curriculum was very poor. There were no Ceramics, Polymers units in detail. What is the use of naming the dept. Materials Science if you are only going to teach Metallurgy? Placements are very poor.
