1. There are very good hostel facilities for girls it is very secure and safe. Boys students can get private hostel easily nearby college.
2. In Hostel, mess charges is 58650 rs/year for veg/non veg and hostel fee is ranges from 92000 rs/year to 119850 rs/year depending upon room facilities.
3. The following four hostels have been earmarked for students taking admission in the first year:
   • Daisy - 3 x sharing for Girls located at a distance of 1 km from the campus.
   • Orchid - 2 x sharing for Girls co located with Daisy.
   • Daffodil - 2 x sharing for Girls located at a distance of 300 mtrs from the campus.
   • Kopou - 3 x sharing for Boys located at a distance of 600 mtrs from the campus.
4. The seats of the hostels are limited in number and are allotted on first cum first serve basis. All correspondence is by e-mail. The contact E- mail IDs are:

8. Bus services are provided for students staying in Daisy/Orchid hostel only for commuting to and fro to the Institutes and back, other hostels are within walking distance.

Honestly, speaking the mess food is much better than any other Hostel. They give you customized food, no wastage policy, good healthy food, every day new dishes are served and the best part is that they give hostel girls/boys an entire Chart for the weekly food menu.

To be eligible for admission to MA programs at Jadavpur University, applicants must meet the following common criteria:

• Have completed a 3-year Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university
• Obtain at least 50% marks (45% for PD/OBC-A/OBC-B category and 40% for SC/ST category) in Honours/Major papers
• In case Honours/Major is not specified/mentioned in the mark-sheet, the applicant is not eligible
• For candidates under SC/ST category from states other than West Bengal, they must produce a domicile certificate for residing in West Bengal for at least 10 years issued by the competent authority
• For candidates under OBC-A and OBC-B categories, they must produce an OBC certificate issued after December 2019 that clearly indicates the category and non-creamy layer status
• Persons with 40% or more disability will only be considered for admission under PD category.

So, if a student fails in particular exam then he/she is required to re-appear that particular subject and gets a Backlog but can clear it in the next Semster.

There is a RE-TAKE exam also. The best part is that we have two exams so if you miss one you are eligible to give Test 2 of the same subject.
