In my opinion, CS, EE and EC branches would provide you with far better opportunities than mining. So, choose mining, if it is your one and only available option. Choose Mining if no better option is available. Mining should be your last choice. The scope of mining engineering is similar to the number invented by Aryabhatta. Getting a job in the mining sector can be easy, but you would definitely get a highly paid job, but I am not sure if you would be happy in working under such conditions.

I believe, public relations would be an ideal course if you wish to pursue an add-on course. As event management is all about making relations and contacts with people whilst maintaining and promoting the reputation of your firm, public relation skills will come off handy.

Yes, you can do BCA i.e Bachelor of Computer Application after getting a Diploma in mechanical engineering.
Many universities provide the lateral entry into the 2nd year of BCA for Diploma holders.
My opinion to you is that you should go for B.Tech in mechanical engineering or you can go for various short-term courses. There are various courses available that can be done after the completion of a Diploma in mechanical engineering. These are job oriented courses of 6 months, 1-year and 2 years. After getting certified in these courses, you can have a job oriented approach in order to ladder up to your career.

If you are at a stage where you have to study engineering at JSPM, I would suggest you drop the idea of studying engineering. You will have better engineering opportunities in other colleges rather than engineering from JSPM.
