San Jose University’s PG Business and Economics programme is ranked in the range of 601-800 by Times Higher Education (THE). While the specific ranking position is not provided for 2023, it indicates that the university is recognised by THE, a reputable source in the field of education. Although the rankings range suggests a relatively lower position, but still stands among the top 1000 universities across the globe. We suggest the applicants to not just consider the rankings. The entry criteria for the MSCS programme at the university require applicants to have at least a bachelor’s degree in computer Science or its equivalent. A recent bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited university generally fulfils the course requirements. However, applicants lacking prerequisite course knowledge may be admitted conditionally if there is sufficient space. Additionally, a three-year bachelor’s degree is accepted. The university accepts TOEFL scores of 80/120, PTE scores of 53/90, or IELTS scores of 6.5/9 for English Language proficiency. Step 2: Go to the website and select the course you are interested in.

Step 3: Make sure you meet the Entry requirements (Such as Academic qualifications, English proficiency, etc.)

Step 4: Once you decide on the course, submit documents such as SOP, Transcripts and personal statements ( might vary depending on the course).  

Step 5: You can track the application's progress through the Official portal of SJSU. 

Step 6: Applicants must keep checking the official portal for their application status. However, the university also mails its applicants for additional requirments/missing docs.

Step 7: Applicants must log into the official website, select MY SJSU tile and navigate to self-service> Students Center> Application Status. 

Postgraduate Application Process for Indian Students 

Step 1: You can apply through the SJSU application portal i.e CSU Cal State Apply application. 

Step 2: Go to the website and select the course you are interested in.

Step 3: Make sure you meet the Entry requirements (Such as Academic qualifications, English proficiency, etc.)

Step 4: Once you decide on the course, submit documents such as SOP, Transcripts and personal statements ( might vary depending on the course).  

Step 5: You can track the application's progress through the Official portal of SJSU. 

Step 6: Applicants must keep checking the official portal for their application status. However, the university also mails its applicants for additional requirments/missing docs. 

Step 7: Applicants must submit the Declaration of Finance Form

Step 8: Applicants must also submit a Bank letter or Bank Statement by the post document deadline that meets requirements.

Step 9: Applicants must log into the official website, select MY SJSU tile and navigate to self-service> Students Center> Application Status.

GRE scores are not required for students with an undergraduate degree from an ABET-accredited degree program. However, students whose colleges are accredited degree programs must give the GRE. The following minimum scores are required to be considered for admission into the MS Software Engineering program: 

• Quantitative + Verbal (GRE Q=V) score = 294 or higher 
• Analytical Writing (GRE AWA) score= of 3.0 or higher 

Below are important notes that the applicants must go through:

• GRE is an important factor for admission evaluation and continues to be a requirement during the pandemic 
• Applications with GRE q+v under 294 will be denied
• Applications with GRE  AWA scores under 3.0 will be Denied 
• A GRE q+v score higher than 294 may be required for successful admission.
• Applicants who have at least five years of professional software development experience following completion of their Undergraduate degree and prior to the opening of admissions for the academic term where the application is being made, applicants can request a GRE test waiver by sending a detailed resume to the admission office.
