The duration of B.Ed correspondence/distance learning is 2 years and the students will be given a maximum of five years to complete the course.  Most of the colleges offering BEd in distance learning ensure that the course is completed within 2-5 years of enrolment. Thus it is not possible to complete this course in one year and candidates must be cautious before applying for any dubious institutes offering one-year BEd programme.

Although, professional BEd through distance education cannot be completed online, however, candidates with a minimum 2 years of teaching experience (who passed DEd diploma) can do online or correspondence. Therefore, candidates can only pursue BEd through distance education wherein they have to put minimum hours of study at the local study centre of their college.
