Hi,
We recommend you to join Embedded Systems course first and get placed in a company which has both Embedded and VLSI departments. Since it is very easy to get job in Embedded Systems, you can enter into a company as an Embedded Systems Engineer and then if you are really passionate in working with the VLSI department, just let the HR and PM know about this so that they can post you in VLSI department when there is a requirement/vacancy in accordance to your interest.
Wish you all the best in your core job hunt!
