As almost everyone has pointed out, it depends on your skill-set and interests. That said, if you really aren't sure, chemical engineering will probably give you a lot more flexibility. Many chemical engineering degrees introduce the basics of programming, and computational work is common enough in chemical engineering research that there is a lot of support and resources to learn it out there. I have known people who graduated with me in chemical engineering but ended up working with computers None that specifically were in software design, but it wouldn't be that far of a leap), but I haven't known it to go the other direction.

It is less likely to get one with your low rankings. You are only left to go with either private universities and colleges or a drop. Use this college predictor to get a better idea. https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/resources/jee-mains-college-predictor?utm_source=cconnect&utm_medium=CR_JEECP&utm_campaign=6804123.

Hey, I also want to take admission in the same course. There is no entrance test for this course and the admission procedure is based completely on your board's percentage. More than 60% marks in your class 12th boards would get you an admission. They will send an email regarding the same and then you have to attend the counselling. The only thing that worries me is that all other counselling's are over for the same University like B.Tech etc.
