New Zealand is the best destination for you. Having a gap is never a concern as long as you are able to explain the reason for the same. You can study a Bachelors degree if you can afford about 8-9 lakhs per annum for 3 years or you could take up Diploma courses which have a lower fee and give you similar job opportunities / work permit after completion of the course. You do not need a degree to do CPL ( commercial Pilot License ) abroad. You need 12th standard with Maths and Physics. In general you can complete CPL within a year in US or Australia or New Zealand. In general, it will cost you about 20 to 30 lakhs range to complete CPL. Make sure you get atleast 200 hours of flying to qualify for DGCA ( Director General of Civil Aviation) requirement to convert your overseas License to a Indian one if you intend to fly in India.
