The current selection process of IIMs takes into consideration a lot many factors like
1. CAT Percentile and GDPI performance
2. Academic qualifications as well as percentages
3. Work-experience (Optional)
4. Extra-curricular and co-curricular achievements
5. Certifications etc
Going for MBA after work-experience is beneficial in the sense that you get exposure to corporate culture and develop an insight into your interests. This helps you take a good decision on choice of specialization and thereafter a career stream.
But in case you get into IIMs, it is better to join rather than going for work-experience. Paper pattern and difficulty level

You can pursue Bcom and do job at the same time, similarly doing financial planning also allows you to do job.the only difference is you might find it difficult to cope both things together
