Hi Utkarsh,
After completing class 12th, you need to appear for various entrance examinations. The scores in those entrance examinations will decide how good a college you can get, and whether you can get the stream you desire for.
I would suggest you to appear for IIT JEE and AIEEE. These two entrance examinations provide admissions to IITs/ NITs and other government colleges, which are cost-effective.
I would also suggest you to appear for individual state examinations (OJEE in Odisha, EAMCET in Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana, COMEDK in Karnataka, etc.). These exams also guarantee you good colleges and serve as a backup, in case things don't

What's your overall percentage? For admission at least 55% is required for colleges under SPP. Highly ranked universities require more than 75%.

The average package is calculated on collective basis that most of the student fetch and its just related to a single students performance. The average package which the student usually gets ranges between Rs 5-6 lakhs depending on the performance so its on your capability and potential that you become the average package setter by banging the highest packages offered which is around Rs 15 lakhs or to follow the trend.
