I am afraid, your query appears to be a little cryptic. Can you elaborate, rephrase and ask your question once again by adding more inputs? This will enable counsellors to satisfy you in a better fashion.

Normally speaking electrical engineering is better than metallurgical branch. But then B.Tech in an IIT has much more snob value than NIT. This causes majority of IIT graduates to get placed irrespective of branch. However I would like to advise you that ignore this and select the branch that fascinates you and not on the basis of ranking of the institution. Best wishes to you.

The competition is VERY high. You have to be in the top 99.5 percentile to get into a government college. If you're like most people, you wouldn't want to take a drop, so I'd suggest that you keep a backup plan. Prepare well for boards too. Total marks: 720. You should aim for 600+. It has 45 questions of physics and chemistry each, and 90 questions
