CAT is especially to get admissions in IIMs, but also used for other MBA colleges too. CAT is conducted by IIM. MAT is an MBA entrance examination for almost all MBA colleges, which is conducted by AIMA. XAT is to get admission into Xavier’s Institute of Management of different locations and it is also some of the other MBA colleges. CAT is an important exam to get into IIMs for MBA. K J Somaiya offers two courses - MS and PGDM (core, IB, FS, RM, IMC)
For PGDM, anyone from any state can apply but they have to take one among CAT, CMAT and XAT. For MS, outside Maharashtra students have to apply through OMS category. OMS criteria will be soon revealed by Maharashtra government. For MS, CET and CMAT (Sept) acts as admission tests.
