CAT is especially to get admissions in IIMs, but also used for other MBA colleges too. CAT is conducted by IIM. MAT is an MBA entrance examination for almost all MBA colleges, which is conducted by AIMA. XAT is to get admission into Xavier’s Institute of Management of different locations and it is also some of the other MBA colleges. CAT is an important exam to get into IIMs for MBA. It is the only exam to get into MBA course for IIMs. IIMs gives weightage to 10-12th percentage + CAT percentile + What/PI performance + any work experience for selecting a candidate. Before starting up your engineering course, you will be asked to fill your choices that you want to opt for. There are a whole lot of options or specializations that you can opt for like computer science, mechanical, electrical, electronics and communication, chemical, civil, aeronautical, petroleum, textile and fibre science, biotechnology, marine, automobile, industrial, instrumentation, metallurgic, production etc. You can choose the area of specialisation depending on the interest you have in. In the first year of your engineering, you will have to study the different fields but from second year, you will be taught only the subjects of the specialisation that you have opted for.
You should carefully make the choice of the specialisation because it is really difficult to change one's specializations after you have opted for it. These privileges are only given to some of the students.

Candidates should satisfy the following eligibility criteria for 5 years Integrated Programme in Management of IIM Indore.
General and NC-OBC Category:
Minimum 60% in standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations, Maximum 20 years of age as on July 31, 2018
SC, ST and PWD Category:
Minimum 55% in standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations, Maximum 22 years of age as on July 31, 2018
Important points on Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates who are likely to complete standard XII/ HSC or equivalent by the end of June 30, 2018, can also apply, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
If selected, such candidates will be offered admission to the programme provisionally.
At the time of registration for the programme, such candidate must have to produce X and XII standard mark sheet (securing minimum marks I. e. 60% for General and NC-OBC or 55% for SC, ST and PwD) along with school leaving certificate/migration certificate, failing which the candidates provisional admission offer will stand cancelled.
The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in X and XII Standard would be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the mark sheet/grade sheet, irrespective of the Boards regulation.
In case the candidates are awarded letter grades or grades points instead of marks, the conversion of grades to the percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the Board/ Competent Authority explaining the method of conversion from where they have obtained the certificate. Applicants pursuing their X and/or XII standard from international schools affiliated to foreign boards like IGCSE (International General Certificate for Secondary Education) and IB (International Baccalaureate) can also apply.
