Some of the top study abroad destinations now are Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, The Netherlands, France etc. USA is still a number one destination but with Trump's policies many students are hesitatnt. UK has strict rules for Indians. The answer to your other question 'why' depends on a lot of factors like budget, university reputation and rankings, work permit, jobs etc. The other question which you posed also depends on the specific course, country and university.
