50% marks (minimum) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor's/UG programs from a recognised university or an equivalent examination is the required criteria. Also, to get the admission in CUHP for MA courses, applicants have to appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG). CUHP admits candidates on the basis CUET-PG merit score. The university releases lists after the declaration of the results. On this basis students can register for further admission proceedings.

Central University of Himachal Pradesh accepts CUET-PG schools for admission to both UG and PG courses. The counselling sessions of CUET-PG candidates begins after the result declaration by NTA.

Last year, Central University of Himachal Pradesh CUET cut off for BSC honours in physics was 327.25, for the general category, Cutoff for BFA in painting is 184.41 of general category. For Sanskrit Honours, it is 172.16.

To get admission in Central University of Himachal Pradesh for all PG courses including MA candidates first have to appear in Central University Entrance Test (CUET-PG).Based on the analysis of the previous scores obtained in CUET-PG cut off is generally expected to be above 200.
Candidates who have passed the Bachelor degree with the recognisable institution/equivalent examination can appear in CUET-PG exam. There is no age limit as per the eligibility criteria for CUET-PG. However, university age criteria needs to be fulfilled.

As per the Government of India rules candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. The following reservations are available SC 15%, ST 7.5%, OBC 27%, PwD 5%, EWS 10%.
