To get employed in pharmacy field you need to pursue degree or diploma in the respective field. After obtaining it, you can :
- apply in good pharma companies as a Medical Representative. You can apply for pharmacist post in hospitals.
- start working in government department.
- do research and development work.
- work in teaching field.
After registering with the state Pharmacy Council you may set up your own pharmacy or chemists and druggists shop to stock and sell medicines and dispense them according to doctor's prescription.

Salary depends on various parameters such as size of the organization, profile, qualification, experience etc.
But, still, to give you a brief idea,
-Pharmacist's initial income in government hospitals is around Rs.6, 000/- to Rs. 10,000/- every month.
-Graduates working in clinics and in private hospitals can earn more than those of government hospital workers.
-Professionals who are engaged in private practice can earn good remuneration depending upon their popularity and skills.
-Professionals who are working in private sector pharmaceutical industries have a pay scale of Rs.12, 000/- to Rs.20, 000/- every month depending on factor such as qualification, experience and profile.
-Medical representatives earn a average of Rs.10, 000/- to Rs.15, 000/- every month.

After 12th in Science if you plan to study Biology, Physics and Chemistry, you may take up medicine, dentistry, agricultural science, dairy science or biological sciences (biochemistry, biotechnology). (ONLY if you fulfill the eligibility criteria).

If you take Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry then, you may go for engineering courses such as civil, mechanical, electronics etc. (ONLY if you fulfill the eligibility criteria).

Apart from doing the degree level courses in science with the conventional combinations you can also choose degree courses in several emerging professional areas such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, computer, business administration.

You can also opt for courses outside the university stream such as hotel management, fashion technology, aircraft maintenance engineering, government accredited computer courses.
