The required score and rank in JEE Main to get admission in a good NIT for B.Tech varies every year and depends on various factors such as the number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, and availability of seats. However, based on previous year's cutoffs, a general category candidate needs to score at least 90-95 percentile in JEE Main and a minimum of 99-100 marks (out of 300) to have a chance of getting admission in a good NIT for B.Tech. In terms of rank, it also depends on the category of the candidate and the branch of B.Tech. Generally, for a good NIT, a general category candidate needs to have a rank within the range of 5,000-10,000 for popular branches such as Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, and Mechanical Engineering. For less popular branches, the rank requirement may be lower.
