If you have general or OBC category, then CSE in NIT is not possible.
If you fall under SC and ST category, then you can get CS, but in low college.
For CSE in VIT, you can go, but the fees of VIT is INR 4 lacs to 6 lacs per year + INR 1 lac hostel per year.
For CSE in SRM, your son can get scholarship, but fees of SRM is INR 3 lac per year + INR 1 lac hostel fees.

It is different for General/OBC and SC/ST, so it depends on which category you fall into. For General category students, it is Rs. 23319 and for SC/ST, it is Rs 13336. This includes Registration, Welfare fund, Library, Water and Electricity, Gym etc.

It is worth paying high fee in top 20 B-Schools of India because you will be able to breakeven easily in two to three years and reap benefits completely of your professional life. If you lucky to get a job in any MNC of the job abroad your breakeven period will be still lesser. You are advised to work hard to seek admission in top B-Schools.
