Yes, there is a sectional cut-off in the CDS exam. Combined Defense Services Exam is conducted in two stages: written and interview. In the written exam, there are three sections: English, General Knowledge, and Mathematics. 
Each section has a separate cut-off, that means candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks in each section. The cut-off marks for each section are released along with the result of written exam. There is an final cut-off for the written exam.
