1. If you are interested in quantitative and statistical analysis, then learn SAS.
If you are not so mathematically, and statistically oriented, and would rather be doing jobs such as project management, business analyst, then go for SAP.
2. I would say that SAS is more about statistics and is a reporting tool/language. SAP on the other hand is does just about everything from Human Resources to Accounting and splits Accounting into General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable (Finance in SAP speak) and stock control (Logistics in SAP speak).
3. To add on I can suggest you a few companies currently hiring in SAS are GE,Genpact, Standard Chartered Bank, Fidelity, HSBC, HP, Accenture, WIPRO,TCS, IBM India, American, Express, Ranbaxy, Cipla, WNS, Barclays,Tech Mahindra, HCL, Infosys, and many more.
While SAP is worldwide acceptable in all the segments.
4. As far as the designation is concerned after you successfully complete the course there are very well paying career as SAS analyst, programmer, developer or consultant.
And same goes with SAP as in you can see yourself as a Business Process Analyst or Pre-Sales Consultant, Implementation Consultant or even Solutions Development Consultant.

Eligibility Criteria : Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC)
1) Educational qualification :
- Candidates must posses Bachelor's Degree from any recognized University.
2) Age limit :
- Age should be between 18-34
- 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST and BCs Candidate's.
- 10 years age relaxation for Physically Handicapped (PH) Candidates.
- 3 years age relaxation for Ex-Service men (3 years & length of service rendered in the armed forces).
- 3 years age relaxation for N.C.C (who have worked as Instructor in N.C.C) – 3 Years & length of service rendered in the N.C.C.
- 5 years age relaxation for A.P. State Government Employees (Employees of APSEB, APSRTC, Corporations, Municipalities etc. are not eligible) – 5 Years maximum based on the length of regular service.
- 3 years age relaxation for Retrenched temporary employees in the State Census Department with a minimum service of 6 months.
3) Physical standards :
- Candidates must be physically and medically fit according to the physical standards of the APPSC examination.
Note:
(i) No maximum age limit for SCs, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs (Other than BCCs & BCMs), BCCs, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes.
(ii) Age relaxation of 5 years will be applicable to persons affected by the ban orders.
(iii) Candidates not belonging to SCs, STs, MBC/DCs, BCs (Other than BCCs & BCMs), BCCs and BCMs (i.e. others) who have put in five years of service in the State/Central Government are not eligible to apply even though they are within the age limit.
