In my first year, I wish I would like know these following things :

1.     Join as much students clubs as possible and try to explore them. make good participation in the clubs.

2.     Focus on CGPA along withe the enjoyment. beacuse maintaning the CGPA is also important in placement procpective.And if you achive the good CGPA in your frist year then it will be easy to maintain it through out the remeaning 3 years.

3.     Find a side hustle and give work on them everyday. 

4.     Try to learn new skills, mostly if you ae instrested in the computerSciencethen at least you have to learn a programing language and try to do some project on them. 

5.     If you ae instrated in the robotics and car racing then VJTI Robotics Club and Racing Clubs is the best place for you. Do participate in all the workshops through out the year, practice them. this will very helpful in CV building.

As VJTI is located in Matunga, Mumbai here are serval residental places available for PG acomodations. If you ae looking for the PG near the collge, you can ask your Seniors for Broker mobile no. Beacuse the PG owner cant talk with you directly.

Here are some referance for where you can look for the PG.

1. Matunga = matunga is mainly known the residance and peicefullness. you canlook for PG in hte matunga near from collge from the walking distance of 5 to 10 min. The price of the PG is may vary from 7K. 
2. Wadala = as is also good for the living for students and it is also in budjet. pricing of PG may start from 5k to 6k. 
3. Dadar = dadar has very much option for the PG, altough it is away from the college, but you can get  a Taxi or can reach here with Local which take onely less than 5 min.
4. Sion = sion is little bit away from the college from but the PG rent are much lower at here, yiu can consider this you can consider this you have finical problam. for reaching the you can come through Local. 

Tip : don't select the PG which are asking for the longterm living Bond, with heavy Security Deposit. 

And if  you are okey with the city and have a some releative then you can consider the other Places for living.
