Since you are among the 48 percent eligible in Class 12, and have already given both GUJCET and JEE Main, your successful admission will be based upon two factors your category (General or Reserved) and the colleges you would target.

GUJCET Bachelor Eligibility
General Category: Admission requires 45 per cent in Class 12 PCM to pursue B.Tech.

Such categories as SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, etc.: In Class 12 you require only 40% PCM.

You have 48% and you can only get B.Tech admission in Gujarat on basis of GUJCET only when you belong to a reserved group. When you are a General category student then you are not meeting the minimum requirement.

JEE Main Admission qualifying criteria
It is not mandatory that you score a minimum percentage to qualify in JEE Main- you are only supposed to have passed Class 12 with PCM.

But in order to win seats in the best institutes such as NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs via JEE Main, you have to score either:

75 per cent or above in Class 12 (General/OBC/EWS), or,

65 per cent or above (SC/ST/PwD).

Be amongst the top 20 percentile in your board.

In other private/state engineering colleges, most of them will accept student with a mark in JEE Main provided she had passed Class 12 but it depends on the individual college minimum marks requirement.

By being in the reserved category, you will be able to join GUJCET counselling in Gujarat, so as to access BTech.

In JEE Main, there are a lot of private/state colleges (but not NIT/IIIT/CFTI) where you can take admission provided that you get their minimum marks.

The result will also be based on the rank/score you received in GUJCET or JEE Main, and the various cutoffs which are set by the institutes and the year.

Yes, it is possible to apply not only one, but also two papers in GATE 2026 application form, which will be approved after the first submission, however, within the official window of form correction. This is the way it is done:

Correction Window: Once the regular period has closed, a correction time period will open (normally during the first week of November 2025, in the case of GATE 2026). At this step, you will be able to log in to the GATE GOAPS portal and choose the adding secondary paper option in case this second paper is one of the permitted two-paper combinations.

Fees: There is an extra payment you are supposed to make- an amount of 500 rupees plus the application fee of the second paper of your category.
