When you apply to GATE 2026, and you make a wrong selection of paper code, then you have a time frame to rectify the mistake, and the rectification occurs in the official application correction period. Once you have submitted your first application, IIT (the organizing institute) would provide the correction period, typically a couple of weeks after registration is complete, and attend to a log in to GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) and make edits on your selected paper code.

There are 30 paper codes or subjects in GATE 2026 itself and as per current official the latest updates also, no new paper codes or totally new subjects have been added to GATE 2026. The most recent ones were in the past years when papers such as Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA), Environmental Science & Engineering (ES), and Geomatics Engineering (GE) and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NM) were introduced.

Yes, the counselling of B.Pharmacy 2025 MHT CET has already begun. In case you are not allotted the city of your choice in GATE, the authorities organizing GATE will allocate you an alternative city to write gate; in most cases, this would be one of your other choices, though a different city in the same zone. This is done when a specific city has been over-chosen by candidates, or on some operational/ logistical grounds. The GATE committee also has the right of allocating a city that might not possibly appear on your preference list in any case they feel like. Once admit card is released, you will not be able to bring changes in the assigned city; this center is also final and should be accepted.

Yes, of course, the selection of the GATE exam centre completely depends on the candidate's convinience and interest. They can choose any exam centre across India, regardless their college or hometown.
NOTE: A candidate can choose 3 cities from the list given above. All the three choices must be from the same GATE 2026 zone.
