Unlike other countries, you do not need to sit for a multitude of exams like USMLE, PLAB or AMC, but you should a graduate and be registered as a generalist or specialist from one of the medical schools recognized by the Singapore Medical Council.
If you are registering as a Generalist, you will need to go through the varying degrees of registration – provisional, conditional and full. If you are registering as a Specialist, you need to obtain the accreditation from the Specialist Accreditation Board (after the above procedure) and if you want to obtain a Post-Graduate Residency training (as a foreign medical graduate) and eventually obtain the Master Of Medicine degree from the prestigious National University of Singapore, you will need to apply to the Division of Graduate Medical Studies (DGMS) and train for 2 to 3 years in an approved hospital and appear for various examinations during the course.
There is no coursework as such in Singapore medical course. You will receive on-the-job training as in the UK. In fact, for some specialties you as a foreign candidate need not even train in Singapore hospitals and take admission to the MMed examinations on the basis of training outside Singapore.

SGH-PGMI coordinates teaching programmes run by SGH’s clinical departments, and organises continuing medical education for general practitioners and specialists. Other than MBBS, you may opt for courses such as agricultural science, dairy science or biological sciences (biochemistry, biotechnology).
[Eligibility criteria : complete 12th (PCB) with minimum 60% and sit for an entrance exam].
You can also choose degree courses in several emerging professional areas such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, computer, business administration.
You can also opt for courses outside the university stream such as hotel management, fashion technology, aircraft maintenance engineering, government accredited computer courses.
However, other than Science stream you may even explore the opportunities Commerce and Humanities offer.
In a nutshell, there are many course options available. You must opt for the one which matches your interest and skills as it will help you to achieve your long term career goal.
