If at all, you want to switch over, go ahead and pursue a career in acting for which, you must first have a passion and drive to learn your craft. Take up some degree course that can help you become learned in this field.
***Once successfully done, you can act in telefilms, countdown shows, TV serials, game shows; play a role of anchors, reality shows and arrangement of chat shows continues based on the television program.

With Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (non-medical) in 12th, you may go for engineering courses such as civil, mechanical, electronics etc. (ONLY if you fulfill the eligibility criteria).

Apart from doing the degree level courses in Science with the conventional combinations you can also choose degree courses in several emerging professional areas such as occupational therapy, computer, business administration.

You can also opt for courses outside the university stream such as hotel management, fashion technology, aircraft maintenance engineering, government accredited computer courses.
However, other than Science stream you may even explore the opportunities Commerce and Humanities offer.

It is advisable for you to appear for NET.
National Eligibility Test (NET) is the entrance test conducted every year to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.
The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) will announce the exam dates for UGC National Eligibility Test (UGC NET 2013) which is expected to be conducted in 4th week of June, 2013. Last year UGC NET exam was held on Sunday, June 24, 2012 so this year we are expecting it to be conducted on the same dates.
Eligibility Criteria for UGC NET 2013
Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in master’s degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this test.
Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at the qualifying master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of JRF/Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their master’s degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/PH/VH category candidates). Such candidates must complete their PG degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
The Ph.D degree holders whose master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET.
