It is not compulsory to have Computers as a subject in 10+2 for B.Tech in Computer Science. The mandatory subjects are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. However, it is recommended to have Computers as a subject in 12th as it sets the foundation. The same topics are covered in the first year of engineering, so students who have already studied the same in 12th standard have a better chance to score good right from the first year.
