You can apply as there is no restriction to what you want to study in US universities as long as you can show interest and have enough intellect in the area of interest. Remember that you need not select your specialization at the time of application itself. In the course of time, you will be allowed to select your desired major or the department and the education counselors will guide you choose the appropriate major basis your education performance. As mentioned by Harleen on the previous reply they might suggest for foundation courses. I will strongly advice you visit the websites of both the universities and have a better understanding yourself. Email them.
