Lovely Professional University is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India, under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. so it is not mandatory for an institution to go for the commissions council accreditation as well. However it depends on the university/institute to apply for NAAC and LPU too is working on it and hoping to get the NAAC accreditation very soon.
