However, do make sure that you have received the proof of contract termination from your insurance agency.

Students who are eligible for public health insurance in Germany can usually switch to private health insurance providers after a certain period (typically a year). However, if you have availed private health insurance for foreign students in Germany, it might be almost impossible to switch to a public insurance plan, unless there is a change in your course or any major change in your situation, and you are no longer able to stay with the private insurance provider.
