Long distance B.Tech courses don't turn out to be very well because you are deprived of the hands-off practical experience that regular fill time engineering courses offer. However, if you are determined to pursue this, there a plethora of colleges and universities you can opt for. Choose a course that interests you and not just on the basis of usefulness and scope of the course.
All the best!

Hi Syed,
Some of the best universities in Melbourne for mechanical engineering includes University of Melbourne, Monash University and RMIT University. Australia overall is expensive but check the university websites for the fees and if they fall within your budget. You may also check more options outside Melbourne and keep yourself flexible. Package depends mainly on the organizations visiting a particular college and the profile they are offering. A rough idea about the package you can have from the average package in past years. You can check student reviews and placement reports if any. For a college in the ranks of 30-40s package for HR is about, 7-8 LPA (an estimate). Also have a look at this article-
