Hi Deepak,
Basic eligibility required to pursue Marine Engineering:
Students who want to take admissions in the three-year diploma course or four year B.E. or B.Tech programme in Marine Engineering, should have done 10+2 with Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and English. Students with Biology as one of the subjects might have an advantage in the course.
Students not only have to clear entrance exams to get a seat but also have to undergo medical fitness tests to prove that they are physically and mentally fit for the programme.

Hi Gyan,
There are more than 10 different scholarships with amounts varying from 30,000 p.a. to 5 lakhs p.a. The eligibility and other criteria are revealed to a student at the very beginning of the course in a special orientations program. The most famous one is the SNBS scholarship that is awarded on a pro rata basis, i.e., based on the income of the family. Other scholarships are based on your academic performance in the first year of IIM-A.

A General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a diploma course of 3 and half year duration. Once a person came out successful after a diploma in GNM, they can look for a good career.
Nursing is basically a women's profession. Generally, female candidates are preferred mostly in job because of nature of job. If you are really interested in paramedical profession think of doing X-Ray, Ultrasound, Sonography, Anesthetic technician. Monthly salary that is in the range of Rs 7,000 to Rs 17,000 at start level. It may go up to 30,000.
For male candidates there is much scope in Western & European countries as Nurse, even in Gulf.

The placements happen in the Delhi Campus, so Kolkata students have to travel to Delhi during placement season. Accomodation and Food is provided by the Institute. :)
