Yes, anyone with a bachelors degree with adequate CAT percentile and good academic record can get a seat in IIMA. Having said that, BSc students actually get certain points for diversity. As you know majority of applicants for IIMs are engineers. Hence IIMs give extra points to students from non-engineering background so that there is diversity in the batch.

Hi Nikhil,
Photography is a good starting point for many careers (VFX, film making, animation) but not a good end point. You can look at different options in the field of media. There are several careers in media in writing, production or post production:
-You can become a reporter, actor or getting behind the camera to direct, cinematography or do finishing work as an editor, compositor or a VFX artist who can add reality to 3D visualizations.
-You may even be a graphic artist who designs the screens, or an animator who brings stories to life as a proxy actor for onscreen characters. You can get into production, whether live or animate

The call for the CDPI round is purely on the basis of CAT score. So, if you clear the cutoff, you'll get a call. Your acads will be given weightage in the final selection, in addition to your performance in the CDPI. The cutoff for CAT last year was 85 percentile, so I think you should be able to get a call around the same percentile this year.

Last year, CAT's cut-off for GIM was 90 percentile. So, just a >80 percentile won't be good enough unless it is also >90 percentile :)
