The rank required for admission to the BTech CSE course was 1605 in the first round for the General AI category. The NIT Surathkal CSE cutoff 2026 was released for the first round for different AI and HS quota categories.

The UK government sets these minimums based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). A CEFR B2 level of proficiency is usually accepted for most courses in UK. CGPA in CBSE Classes 10 and 12 is the average of grade points obtained in the five main subjects, excluding 6th additional subjects. It is calculated by adding grade points of 5 subjects and dividing by 5. The maximum CGPA value go to up to 10.0. To convert your 10th and 12th CGPA into percentage, multiply it by 9.5.

For the General AI category, the competition has been decreasing from 2024 to 2026 (in the first round).  For the OBC AI category, competition from 2024 to 2026 has also decreased.

For all the other All India categories, like SC, ST, EWS and PWD, the cutoff has been fluctuating. See below to know the cutoff in detail for the AI quota. Please note that other categories will have different cutoff trends.

To get admission at NIT Rourkela, General AI category students need to attain a rank of at least 41435 or below to be eligible, according to the round 1 of NIT Rourkela JEE Main cutoff 2026. For this category, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 398 to 41435. Among all the courses, BArch and Integrated BSc + MSc in Life Science were the most and least competitive courses for admission. 

For the students who belong to the General HS category, the required round 1 rank needed for admission should be at least 61256 or below.

VITEEE is comparatively easier than JEE Mains in terms of difficulty. JEE Main purely focuses on concepts and fundamentals. On the other hand, the VITEEE focuses more on accuracy. In terms of difficulty level, JEE Mains ranges from moderate to tough while VIT exam range from easy to moderate.

There is no attempt limit to appear for VITEEE exam. As long as you meet the eligibility criteria. However, VIT exam is conducted once a year on multiple dates, and applicants can write exam once in a year.

Yes, you can apply to GIBS Business School Bangalore after taking the MAT exam. From my experience, the college accepts scores from exams like MAT, CAT, or XAT, so having a valid MAT score makes you eligible for admission.

  • MAT score is considered during the selection process

  • College looks at your overall profile, including academics and interview

  • You can get admission in PGDM or MBA programs based on your MAT score
