Suyog, If you are confused about careers after 12th/ graduation, there are a few ways to approach this. If you are very good with maths and programming, opt for Computers (BTech or BCA). I am not sure how good you are with maths and programming. If you are, then you must pick up Programming and take a language whether PHP/ HTML5 (web dev), .Net (for software dev) Java/ Android (for apps) or C#/ Unity (for games). However like i mentioned, you must be good with programming to move ahead in this area since you have to compete with MCAs and BTech(CS) applicants. So choose your internship/ industrial training very carefully. Do not just go for the cheapest to save money. See the IT company's credentials on the net. for example if someone provide LIVE PROJECTS are they there near the TOP on PORTALS like JUSTDIAL? Or if the company is registered with STPI (Software Technology Parks of India) - all good IT companies are registered with STPI. If a company spends money to market themselves to customers, only then they are able to get LIVE PROJECTS. Also, if you are an average programmer, and if you you're better with creative work, then you can head for web design or even vfx/ animation since there is a huge requirement coming up in that domain. There is also an intermediate path in games design and development. If you are good with Drawing and Creative opt for Design (Animation, VFX, Games, Fashion). If you are good with words become a writer (content, news, fiction, ads) or director. If you are good with keeping records go for Accounts or Stats or administration. If you are good with logic go for Law. If you are good at memorizing and love nature go for medical. If you are good with people go for Management. If you are good with nothing become a politican (haha, pun intended - actually you need very good insight into future for this). Wish you the best for your career. In order to become a Customs Officer, you'll to appear for the Civil Services Examination conducted annually by the Union Public Service Commission. This Exam provides entry into 27 different services which includes the Indian Customs & Central Excise Services.
The Civil Service Exam is conducted in two parts- Preliminary and Main Exam.
Those who are selected are either sent to Chennai for training in the functions of Customs Department or those selected for Central Excise Service training is done in one of the metropolitan cities.
Eligibility Criteria:-
A Bachelor's degree is the basic qualification
The aspirant must score above 55% of marks
Age limit- 18 years old
Indian citizenship
The notifications are published in the employment newspaper and other prominent periodicals.
To prepare for the UPSC exams, the candidate needs to be aware of all the current affairs. Reading of newspapers regularly will be of help. The aspirants should have good knowledge in English and basic Mathematics etc as the entire exam is based on these subjects and followed by the selection and interview.

Candidates wishing to enter the navigational and engineering fields of Merchant Navy need to complete their B.Sc. degree in mechanical or marine engineering, before they can gain admission to the field. In some cases, students who have completed their 12th with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) are eligible to join as Deck Cadets. Navigating Officers - Candidates will need to obtain a Certificate of Competency, as per the regulations in India relating to the examinations of Masters and Mates. Conducted by the Ministry of Surface Transport, in association with the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) Mumbai, the examinations help determine the promotion prospects for the officers. For training, the best training institution for the navigating officers is the T.S. Chanakya. Candidates who qualify from here, that is complete their first certificate of competency of Second Mate, need to go through a three year training in Nautical Science (B.Sc.) and then complete a year's duration of practical training in the deck department of a merchant ship.Selection is based on the Joint Entrance Examination given by the IIT; a merit list is prepared after the written test and interview are completed and the Director General of Shipping has the authority to chose which of the 2 training programmes the candidate is best suited for (students can let their preference be known) Both the T.S. Chanakya and MERI institutions do help (under no Government obligations) in recruiting their graduates in suitable Indian Shipping Companies.As far as remuneration and other benefits are concerned Merchant Navy is one of the few careers where the salary is relatively high. Most colleges have a different provision for admission. You need to contact the institute officials personally for specific admission details as it differs from one college to another.
There are a lot of openings for you after B.Sc Physics. You can opt for M.Sc Physics, Astrophysics : - This sector has many job opportunities you may join M.sc. Astrophysics in any university or if you want to see yourself as a scientist/Researcher you can proceed with M.Sc. in Applied Physics, and then go for PHD.
There are many options available to you depending on your interests, core strengths and chosen career path. Other than the conventional courses, you could explore courses in management, teaching, research, finance/banking, media, corporate communications, retail, hospitality etc. Postgraduate diplomas in specialized areas like leather, sugar, plastics, processing, packaging or environment technology are some other options you could look at. You can also take the Civil Services as well as the Indian Forest Service Exams with physics as one of the papers in the Mains examination.
