Before you start your preparation, the first and foremost thing to be done is to go through the syllabus deeply and analyze exam pattern once. This will give you better understanding about the CAT and then you can formulate your strategy to succeed. Before proceeding further, you must also know that the syllabus is divided into three sections, namely:
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
Quantitative Ability
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
Step 1: Most of the CAT chapters are chosen from your high school syllabus (class 8910), therefore it would not bother you much. Revise them properly because this is the part that you have learned in your academics and with little efforts, you can attain excellence in it. Thus, is the most important part of your preparation? Once you have cleared all of your concepts, you can do well in CAT. One success mantra is you don't need to be good in each of the topics. It means in each of the section you need to attempt certain number of questions accurately for 99+ percentile.
