Yes, you actually can, since there are only restrictions that are applicable for some reputed colleges and some eligibility criteria for applying into those colleges. But for it is to be done mostly for full-time aspirants. So, most of the colleges out there other than the reputable ones can give you a distance MCA opportunity.

First of all, I want to ask you do you have time for doing the course, because there are courses for different time periods. So, you will have to adjust yourself according to the time period. Second point is, what is your educational qualification? You should be a CS or IT graduate. You should be an expert in one of the programming language i.e. , Java or C+. Also, you should have a good knowledge of functioning of UNIX. Third point is that there are different institutes which provide this course. All institutes have different fee structures.

Unfortunately, No. We do not have the e-learning option available with us and the reason for that is that this course is 80% practical & only 20% theory so it's not exactly possible to do a designing program online.
However, since we have been getting many such concerns, we do have something really exciting in the pipeline.

To get admission in National Defense College, you have to clear NDA exam conducted by UPSC twice a year.
Basic eligibility required for NDA are:
- You are eligible for NDA after 10+2 exam.
- Only unmarried male candidates are eligible.

Well Surekha,
It is really up to you, and how you want to take your career forward. But, I can say, in India it's scope is very leads nowadays.
Industry will provided a far greater financial incentive and will probably be more stable than academia.
The academic side can be unstable post-docs last 3-years, teaching posts can be temporary and to climb up the ladder you will have to move around institutes/universities.
But, you also have to remember if you work in industry you can still collaborate with institutes/universities. And try to apply for foreign institutes/ universities for better future if done Ph.D.
