In the non informal stream this Institute is affiliated to the Kashmir university and this university awards degrees post graduate degrees and also certificates to the students who pass out. On the other hand the informal courses that this Institute conducts includes an undergraduate Diploma in almost 15 different subjects. The duration of the scores is about 6 months. The students have to appear for an entrance test to see admission for this diploma. But across the spectrum on the net and from many other sources no information about any cut off marks in this entrance examination was mentioned anywhere. Result of this the student can safely conclude that she / he just needs to pass this entrance exam to get admission and there is no cut off to speak of.

Merit in this examination will determine the admission. It is basically involved in skill development activity meaning it provides many courses of small duration to students who then can either seek employment or they can work themselves as entrepreneurs. In addition to this these institutes also offer some courses at graduation and post graduation levels also. These courses are invariably affiliated to the local government university where these institutes are located. In such cases the University grants a degree or postgraduate certificate.
