I am also an outstation student of DU. During first you are going to face little difficult in finding PG/flats as per your demands. There is no doubt you will not going to have home like food here. Most of the students in DU are outstations students only. You just don't need to rush for settling down, just have patience and most importantly smile on your face. Because at last all things will go well. Hostels are also available in some college you can get enrolled in hostels on merit list basis. You will learn how to deal with people and tackle problems so at last you are going to learn and make yourself better.

It totally depends on you. If you are good in programming and analytical skills and ready to learn new language as per project demand then go for IT job. But if you want well balanced life, respect in society, all government allowance then go for government job starting salary of group B employees in state PCS is in between 50-55k after 7th pay commission. And I think it is more than enough if you want to live well balanced life in a society. If you want the job in your whole life so go to the government job. Best of luck.
