Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao said that Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will lay the foundation stone for the medical college which is proposed to come UPAT Paderu in Visakhapatnam Agency soon. He said that the medical college will be set up in about 35 acres and orders have been issued for the construction. He was speaking to the media about the government initiatives in Medical & Health and the Tourism Departments, at the VMRDA arena here on Friday. Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that the State government will set up medical colleges in all parliamentary constituencies in the State, including one at Anakapalle. The college at Paderu will boost medical facilities for the people living in tribal areas, he said. Nearly 2,280 crore will be spent for construction of medical colleges at Anakapalle and Paderu, Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs), he said. He also said that after Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy took over as the Chief Minister, about 40,000 people have been benefited by the Arogya Sri. For cancer patients, nearly 86.67 Lacs was spent, he said. The government is setting up drug de-addiction centres in all the districts, including Visakhapatnam, he said.

The CET score doesn't tell you much. It just tells you how well you scored in the test. But that's not what the colleges require. What colleges ask for is your CET rank, which basically tells them how well you performed amongst others. You are given a rank based on the combined score of the CET test and board marks (equal weightage). So just a good score in CET is not sufficient. Your board marks also count. Moreover the difficulty of the CET paper and quality of students who write the exam differ each year. The board marks differ from student to student. So you can't generalise a good score. It's different for different students (based on their respective board marks). RVCE CSE Cutoff in 2015 was 288 and in 2016 was 239. On the other hand for ECE it was 374 in 2015 and 478 in 2016. Seeing a sharp demand for CSE the cutoff rank might come down to probably around 200 to 210. So a safe rank would be below 200. For ECE on the other hand, a safe rank would be below 400.
